We hire for patience first. Everyone here is trained in trauma-informed care, and everyone knows your stop signal before you sit down.
Founder · General dentist
Elena avoided the dentist for most of her twenties, then became one. She opened Fernwood Gentle in 2019 to build the clinic she wished had existed: quiet, honest and never in a hurry. She's a UBC graduate, a Fernwood local and the slowest talker on staff.
Sedation & implants
Arjun is certified in nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation, and plans every implant on a 3D scan. Patients say he explains things "like a friend who happens to be a dentist". Off duty he's usually on a bike somewhere on the Galloping Goose.
Registered dental hygienist
Sam's hour-long cleanings are famous for two things: warm water and zero lectures. He'll happily explain everything he's doing, or say nothing at all, depending on what you pick from the comfort menu.
Comfort coordinator
Noor is the first voice you'll hear on the phone, and she'll text instead if you prefer. She handles insurance, CDCP paperwork and your comfort picks, and she makes very good tea.
